The direct aims of this counting work is to reinforce the knowledge that each number is made of separate quantities; to learn the names of quantities 1-10; to learn the quantity of numbers 1-10; to introduce the sequence of numbers; to count using concrete materials; as well as to develop order, concentration, coordination and independence.  The indirect aim of this work is to prepare for the divisibility of numbers.

Materials included: 55 seashells in similar size; series of cards with numbers from 1-10; box for all materials and presentation instructions.
