Happy mother’s day scavenger hunt for kids

With online 1st grade school came the May calendar … I’ve almost convinced him it’s Mother’s Day ALL MONTH LONG 😅

Ivan LOVES scavenger hunts! They seem to take so long to make I thought I’d make one and try to make it generic enough you can edit as needed and download to use. We begin Mother’s Day (and Easter and any other holiday or special occasion or rainy day) with a scavenger hunt. Super fun and it doesn't even matter what’s waiting at the end!

For this grand prize I have ping pong balls (needed them anyway), NHL cards, some Made Good snacks … and MAYBE the iPad I took away so he can get in some screen time 😅

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Find some items for a “prize” anything silly works!

  2. Download and print the PDF found here (it’s FREE) and edit as needed. A few underlined words definitely need to be customized

  3. Print (either in color or change document to black type)

  4. Grab your scissors and hide your clues! (the location of each clue is typed super small on each clue. I cut so I can rip that text off or just cut through it)

  5. Send your little gem on the hunt!!

Even if you don’t use these exact clues, I have found this is a much easier way to do a savager hunt - type, print, and put each location on the next clue where it should be placed. That way you can do all the outside, first floor, basement, etc while in the same area!

*This Mother’s Day hunt took me approx 15 min to hide the clues and I had some major set backs. My 3rd page wasn’t printing and I used tape for some of the clues which required extra hands and some juggling. It took Ivan nearly 45 min to complete and those counted as non-screen-time & cardio minutes 🙌🏻 💙. It proved to be a harder scavenger hunt than of the past, as I did a better job hiding the clues and writing trickier clues to figure out. 😂
